“Gephyrophobia is the anxiety disorder characterized by the fear of bridges. As a result, sufferers may avoid routes that will take them over bridges.”
Oh boy, that is an understatement! I thought I had gotten the hang of bridges after going back & forth over the bays recently, but I was nowhere near prepared for the magnitude & fury of New Orlean's bridges. I literally had to cover my head with a coat so I could navigate! The feeling is like imminent death! So much water to cross & so very many huge clover leafs suspended in air. Takes all the air out of my lungs & makes my stomach sick. Well, enough of my neurosis. Edward survived the drive & got us safely to our lovely state park. You can bet your booties, we will leave NOLA on a different route!
The park is lovely with really spacious sites & quite empty after Mardi Gras. The wooded areas are filled with fire wood so we celebrated life with an afternoon fire. Very tranquil after the journey here! Spring is arriving early in LA. The maples are beginning to bud & the grass is greening! Pretty cool.
Tomorrow we hit the Big Easy. James has given us some suggestions of what to see & we are excited! High is predicted to be 75, so perfect weather to be tourists. Think we can last three days? I am not betting on it!
