With Nashville in the rear-view mirror, the goal was The Dumplin Valley Farm east of Knoxville. We had no clue what the day would bring.
I was chatting with James on WhatsApp when we felt & heard a bump. The truck swayed a bit; Edward & I looked at each other & said “what was that?” Being the ever cautious driver, he exited the interstate at the first opportunity thinking it might be a tire or something wrong with our hitch.
BUT NO! Sad, sad sight. Our beautiful shiny aluminum Bessie has a crumpled & damaged fender. We could hardly believe it! It did not feel like a collision at 60 mph; guess our anti-sway bars really work! There is damage underneath to the tank housing as well. We have no idea what happened!
We traveled on to our farm to begin the insurance conversation. Most AS owners go to Jackson Center, Ohio to have “skin” work done. So, I guess the summer might be rearranged a bit. Our contact at the factory is calling this morning. We are not sure how it all works at this point.
We are grateful it was an insignificant accident. No damage to us or the truck and our sweet tiny house is still usable.
Thankfully, we had a beautiful tranquil spot to recup. The farm is lovely & spacious, just what we like.
