Happiness! We are back in camping mode & it feels wonderful. Finley has joined us for a few days at Jordan Lake. Lake swimming is a new experience for this beach girl & it has been refreshingly cool & pleasant.
We have another gorgeous lake front campsite right around the bend from a designated swimming area. Edward & I were leery about surviving the 90 plus degree heat wave but it has been no problem. The shady campsite helps the AC keep things cool inside & the breeze off the lake makes the outside pleasant enough.
Greatest thanks to all of you who inquired about Avery’s health & wished her well. We never dreamed we would spend a summer month in Fayetteville (the official hottest place in NC) but as John said “life is what happens while you are busy making other plans.” Edward & I managed to roll with the punches & relax into care-giving mode. It is not for sissies, that’s for sure. Avery has made a remarkable recovery & is adapting to life in the assisted living section of her old apartment.
Once again, Camille & Dean took us in for a week of much needed R & R after our time with Avery. It was as wonderful as always to relax on their porch & feel the soothing ocean breezes & cook some delicious southern dinners in their BIG kitchen. We spent time at Lathan & Kaitlyn’s puppy sitting while they celebrated her birthday in Charlotte.
The Airstream repair is rescheduled for July 25 & we really hope it happens this time. Now we will be wandering around NC without our home the month of August. Anybody need a house sitter????
My laptop has been out of use so long it has forgotten some important things, like how to connect to the internet. I love my Asus but this one has a lot of driver issues & they are hard to fix. Edward has managed to restore it several times & I am hoping for a quick recovery.
We are headed to Charlotte to visit Leila before staying in Stone Mountain for two weeks. Now that sounds nice……14 days of camping. Ahhhh, gypsies again.
