Today was relax around the homestead day. We did take Mags on a 5 mile walk this morning on the sill created by “the government” to control the waters of the swamp. Water was mighty low in a lot of places & believe it or not, we did not see any alligators! The sill marks a line between the Preserved Wilderness & forestry property & is a blatant illustration of fire management policy. The wilderness area just burned but the forestry guys contained the fire that did cross the sill. The sill also marks the edge of the swamp & the “upland” timber. Hard to get bulldozers in the swamp, at any rate.
Tomorrow we head to Seminole Lake & our first Army Corp site. Will be MLK holiday weekend, so should be interesting. Back to connectivity at last!!!
