We are as close to Alabama as one can be & still be in Georgia. We are also five minues from Florida.
Our devices are not quite sure where we are. The cell phones are in Central Time while we & our computers are still in EST. We have been out of sync most of the day. Messing around this morning -doing web stuff, breakfast, laundry & a short walk & all of a sudden it is 2:30! We have fallen down the retired rabbit hole for certain.
Our quiet park filled up rapidly this afternoon. A long weekend coupled with a forecast of nearly 70* has brought out the local folks. Judging by the gun shots, many of them are hunters after water fowl.
Maggie loves it here. This is the first campground she has been able to play ball! There is a very large picnic area by the water that is just perfect. Edward never trusts her not to go swimming but so far so good. She is excited to be free; makes me happy just to watch her.
We stayed up late (10:30!!) planning out the next few weeks. We will leave the lake front spot on the 22 & head south to St. Joe's Pennisula for a week. Then make our way slowly west along the gulf coast. Henderson Beach SP near Destin looks promsing & so does Ft Pickens National Seashore. Ft Pickens is a federal park so it offers a 50% senior discount as well as the promise of warmer temperatures.
