The patches of blue sky grew larger as we sipped our coffee, luring us out doors. I had some items to mail, so we took the nature trail near the ranger station along the bay. Beautiful walk through three habitats: depression marsh, scrub community & maritime hammock. Some of the plants in the scrub area were new to us: sand pines, florida rosemary (no aroma), & reindeer moss. By the time we had finished the short mile hike through soft “sugar” sand, we were freezing! Felt mighty good to get back in the truck!
The afternoon hike was back to the beach. The surf was just as rough, but the sunshine made it more fun. The boardwalk out had been very windy so we chose the longer way home along the roads. We were rewarded with a very large grey bird sighting & a black snake catching the rays!
I have almost finished the airstream drawing & it is ok. Amateurish for sure, but better than I expected. I’ll try another.
It is amazing how quickly the time goes by. A little reading, music or art, a couple of walks & the day is gone. Tomorrow’s forecast is warmer with much calmer winds. Yea! Still have not found a spot to watch the Panthers. Most places close early on Sunday if open at all. We’ll check out the Wi-Fi spots to see if espn or fox is broadcasting in this area.
