We began & ended our day in pursuit of the Panthers game! The Wi-Fi spot at the marina would not download video but we did have a nice walk on beach while Maggie waited in the car. Edward managed to find a restaurant 45 mins away in St Joe Beach that would stay open till 8 or so if there was business! That was our Cam Plan.
The wind dropped, the temperature climbed to 52 & the clouds disappeared! The day was marvelously warm. We had a cozy rest outside the Airstream in the wonderful sunshine. Edward even used sunscreen!
It was so nice we went back to the beach for a longer stroll. Beautiful; it looked very much like our own Lea Island in Hampstead. The offshore storm was devastating to the marine life. A thousand dead starfish had been brought in by the tide. There were several different species, quite beautiful. Perhaps a ranger will know more about it.
Shipwreck Raw Bar beckoned & we eagerly drove to civilization. The sunset over the gulf was breath taking, reminding me of Hawaii. We finally reached the one spot in 100 miles with a public TV as the Broncos game ended. The bartender happily found our game & we settled in. Amazingly, dinner was great. Edward had his favorite, shrimp & grits, while I ordered a crab cake, rosemary potatoes & a salad.
Gosh, it was yummy! There were enough patrons to keep the restaurant open until half time & we had a fun evening. Even I got into the game & followed the plays. Camille gave us text updates as we drove back down the peninsula. Happy to know the Panthers were holding onto the lead. Miracles of miracles, we are on to the Super Bowl!
