Even the ol’ man is learning to sleep in. Many days it is 7:30 before we get out of bed & nearly 11:00 by the time we are dressed & ready for the day! Slightly embarrassing, but we are getting over it! The day goes by & we wonder what on earth we did.
Today was supposed to be town day – laundry, grocery shopping & gassing up Beasley. Somehow, the sunshine overruled the 35-minute drive & a day of chores. We put it all off until Friday, our next travel day.
We are enjoying hanging out at this campsite in the lovely sunshine. Lexie waits at the door when we are outside, so I thought it would be fun if she joined us. She was eager to explore & I quickly discovered I am not qualified to be the kitty wrangler & the photographer! She slipped under the airstream while I was futzing with the camera & would not come out! Surprised? I did not want to crawl under after her. What to do? I tugged on her halter just as Edward said “don’t do that” & off it came. She was off into the saw palmettos in a flash. A quick lunge on my part captured her; she will not be coming outside again! Yikers, that could have ended badly.
Who knew mushrooms could grow at the beach? Seems the antithesis of their growing requirements. Several species are abundant here. None look safe to eat.
More folks are on the beach now that the sun is out & the surf is calmer. Fishing is apparently big around here. Lots of fisher people but we have not seen much being caught. I love walking by the sea in the cold water, invigorating!
We are beginning to think of New Orleans!?! Think we can handle a few days of crazy?
