Today we headed to Skidaway Island GA where we hope to find some sunshine. We don't have to have balmy temperatures, but would we love to feel the sun.
This was our longest travel day in the truck. What google maps indicated was a four hour car ride translated into nearly 6 for us & the four leggeds. Two pits stops & an emergency pull over while I did a frantic search for my sunglasses added to the slower towing speed made for a long day. Mags & Lex handled it like veterans of the road. Lexie roamed free & added a little fun to the ride. Maggie's contribution was several episodes of unpleasant odors!
We pulled into the ranger station around 3 & were rewarded by an avenue of live oaks drapped in spanish moss. A welcoming site for these eyes. This park is awesome! The sites are spacious & not many folks are camping. We choose a gorgeous private spot at the end of a loop & were quite pleased with our selves. Set up went easily. We cranked out the awning, put our new ground mat out, & set up our table & chairs. Settling in for the long haul.
As I am hooking Maggie to her lead, Edward comes around the trailer saying "hey, did you notice the handicap sign?" I am all about begging forgiveness later, but you know Edward. Back to the ranger station we went. The rangers were awesome! We can stay unless a handicapped camper "requests" it!
We were torn between hanging out by the fire & the Panthers game. Guess which won? Go Panthers!
