The mountains are treating us well & we are enjoying life on the road. A couple from Chatham County shared fires with us two nights; it was fun to have company.
Asheville was our destination on Wednesday. We wanted to see Chuck one more time before heading south. The family is so happy that his stay at Mission is finally over after 10+ weeks! He is moving into Rehab tomorrow & then on his way home! He & his foot are safe!
I think Chuck enjoyed his lunch from Panera more than anything. I can only imagine how tired he is of hospital cuisine!
The drive was beautiful, just love watching those mountains roll by.
Bryson City boasts the cleanest laundromat (according to google reviews) in these parts & we were getting desperate for clean clothes. We stopped on the way home from Asheville & had a great time. Bryson City is charming & decked out for tourists. Was a fun place to hang out while our clothes were washing. The view from Stecoah Gap was compelling as the sun began to set & we wanted to check out the access to the Appalachian Trail. We are determined to step a mile or two along NC's most famous trail.
