Ahh, what a difference a bar makes! We have better cell service but much worse internet. Wish I could comprehend.
The park is lovely & nearly empty. Our site is on the beautiful Towaliga River which miraculously, still has water. Today’s trail was a 2-mile nature trail that has been renamed the Tranquility Trail. It was not old growth & there seemed to be a bit of logging going on. We trust there is a plan for something better. Not sure who came up with the name, but it was peaceful. Just a few squirrels to get Mags excited.
Fortunately, campfires are allowed here. Having been gifted wood by several departing campers, we celebrated with a nice blazing fire tonight. It was fun to cozy up & eat by the light of a campfire. It was also fun to come inside & get warm.
We loaned our small electric heater to a young couple tent camping nearby. It was so cold last night! 36 is mighty close to freezing! Hope they stay warmer tonight. They were most happy to have the heater!
We are headed south in search of warmer weather. Sound familiar? We are wondering if we are up for the challenge of camping in Florida this winter! After a bit of preliminary research, we think it may be possible to hopscotch around the central area during Jan & Feb. We shall see…..
