Another beautiful day in GA, the days are warm & sunny & the nights a bit cool. General Coffee has recreated a typical homestead from the late 1800’s. At least a dozen buildings & barns have been brought here from all over Georgia. Chickens, roosters, turkeys, goats, sheep, a horse, two donkeys, a mule & one very big pig have found a home here. It was a happy noisy place with kids running & roosters crowing to anyone willing to listen. Edward, Mags & I wandered around checking out the buildings & wondered about the people who used these buildings. Were they happy with their life or too tired to care. Would we have been tough enough? Not sure about that. Scalding a pig to get the hair & skin off the meat seems gross enough, much less slitting his throat. Guess you do what you gotta do…. Was anyone a vegetarian in those days? I did notice the laundry was located conveniently near the bathroom!
General Coffee has been a very quiet relaxing experience, and nowour thoughts turn to Florida!
