Lake Griffin is really relaxing. The park's small size limits the amount of local hiking so we are enjoying what we affectionately call "camp days". Lots of time to focus on our Spanish lessons, do a bit of house cleaning, & pursue our creative activities. Edward is learning a couple of new songs on the guitar & I have discovered the world of online art tutorials. Oh, the wonders of YouTube! Admittedly, there is a lot of junk, but there is a ton of quality instruction available. How cool is that?
The park rents kayaks so Edward graciously agreed to do a bit of water exploration. The Dead River turned out to be very lovely & relaxing, at least for me. We were surprised that we didn't see as much wildlife. Quite a contrast with the abundance on our Silver River trip. One turtle, one alligator & one comorant were the only natives who showed themselves!
