What a serendipity! We just happened to be at Wekiwa State Park the week of the annual PaintOut!
Thirty artists from around the country came for a week to paint Plein Air in the park. Their paintings were displayed today at Wekiva Island. A bend in the river, just up from the park, hosts a boardwalk for sunbathing, a huge kayak/canoe launch, an awesome bar & a delicious food truck. In short, a happening local spot. Without a Paddle served up a great fried shrimp basket & mahi quesadillas. What more could anyone want? Sunshine, a cool breeze, nice music, good food, & artists everywhere. We had a wonderful afternoon exploring this very different setting.
It was exciting to watch the artists paint & see their wonderful works. We talked with several & they kindly answered my questions. I’m not sure if I feel better or worse about my art, but it was very inspiring.
