Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all.
The coast of Maine has more beautiful little harbors than a tourist can handle. It seems everyone must own at least one boat! Our stay at Camden Hills was all the more exciting because it is one of TWO Maine state parks that offer water & electric service! Wahoo, we lived it up.
It is hard to reconcile the forested mountains being right along the coast. When we hike in the forests, I am thrown by glimpses of the beautiful waters of the Atlantic. The rocky rugged shore has stolen our hearts. It is not a beacon for sun loving, bikini clad folks. The water stays close to 50 degrees & the wind is nippy.
Camden's population of 4,850 more than triples during the summer months due to the influx of wealthy Northeasterners ( & poor campers). Our trip through the harbor & shops ended with a craft beer & lobster bisque for Edward & chocolate torte with coffee for me. The perfect way to end all sightseeing days.
